OFF THE BEATEN PATH CHINA
We will be exploring two of China’s more off-the-beaten path southern provinces: Jiangxi and Anhui to discover their local tea and porcelain traditions.
Jingdezhen in Jiangxi has been the porcelain crafting capital of China for over 1000 years and home to China’s imperial kilns. You will have a chance to visit not only the historical imperial kilns but also the studios of contemporary porcelain artists.
EXPLORE CHINA’S DIVERSE TEA GROWING REGIONS
We will visit three different tea growing areas in both Jiangxi and Anhui so you will have a chance to experience the diversity of China’s famous green teas. You will have a chance to pick your own tea, observe how tea is harvested, and visit secluded tea villages.
To ensure you have the richest possible experience you will be accompanied at all times by passionate experts who are there to answer each and every one of your questions.
Charlene Wang, Chinese tea and teaware expert.
We created this itinerary to share our most memorable experiences discovering Chinese tea and teaware and are excited to be your guides.
Throughout the trip we will have mini-workshops and seminars on Chinese tea or teaware traditions to give some added context and background for all the amazing experiences you will encounter during the day.
You can relax and enjoy yourself in the hands of China travel pros Stretch-a-leg Travel. All accommodation, meals, entrance fees, and transportation are included and all logistics worked out so you can just concentrate on soaking up this unique once-in-a-lifetime experience.
EXPERIENCE FROM PREVIOUS TRAVELERS
“I benefited from the trip by being able to see the in-depth tea processing about which I’ve been super curious. It was also a really good way to see China outside if the big cities. I know I couldn’t have seen the countryside on my own.
I also benefited from the interesting conversion with both Charlene and Tony both of them had a deep knowledge of the subject and area. Additionally they were both great and flexible with the unexpected.”
–Scott B, USA traveler from 2013 Spring Harvest Tea Trip
“Tony showed us the China tourists don’t usually see. He was accommodating, knowledgeable and flexible. We very much appreciated his suggestions and got to see much more than we could have any other way. I would very much recommend Stretch-A-Leg for a very special experience.”
–Sharon S, USA
“Tony is knowledgeable and makes the scenery come to life. I typically forget most of what guides tell me in a matter of hours, but half a year later that visit is still vivid in my mind.”
