Mao Feng Green Tea in Wuyi, Zhejiang

I went with my friend Andrew who was researching organic tea production in China on a Fulbright Fellowship to visit one of the earliest organic tea producing facilities in China.

We went in the off-season (Fall) so that it wouldn’t be too bothersome for our hosts (imagine visiting a friend’s Christmas Tree business during December vs. May) so that’s why there are no tea pickers in the fields and why the production factory is like a ghost town. Tea is a seasonal crop!
